I am reminiscing over Mexico. What a journey physically and spiritually! Even though the work was pretty set out for you and the living conditions were rather adequate for a mission trip, it still was an experience. Being away from technology and other distractions, and closer to the people so loving, I found myself so content and happy with such simplicity. Not to mention the beautiful Ensenada beach, the best spot to start off the day with devotions.

The mission trip also helped me find a way closer to God. Even though, I’ll admit, I’ve had closer encounters with God that did not occur during the Mexico mission trip, I know that he had been watching me, actually the whole mission team, as we spread the word and love of God to the local people. I bet he is proud. I’m not the most devout, but when I help the needed, I feel the holy spirit working inside of me. It feeling of altruism is remarkable, and to sacrifice your own time to be of assistance to the less fortunate is rather impressive. Kind of like the feeling you get after a workout, like you have accomplished something. I also think mission trips are humbling experiences.

I really hope my application for the Trinidad mission trip is accepted. Words cannot express how much I want to go to Trinidad. If my app does get accepted, I will be anticipating every moment for what God will bring me to during this trip.
